What Aplica does

Aplica is a job application assistant for people looking for work in Switzerland. It finds job offers that match the user, adapts the user's CV and cover letter to each offer using only facts the user provided, and, when the user decides to, sends the application to the employer.

Data we process

Your email address and password for signing in. Your CV and, if you upload one, your CV photo; what you tell us about the job you want (roles, cantons, languages, salary). The job offers we show you, the applications you prepare and send, and the employer replies that reach your application address.

If you request access to the beta without an account, we keep your email and, if you tell us, the job you want and where you are, only to invite you. Ask us to delete it at any time.

Why

Only to provide the service: finding offers, adapting your CV and letter with your own facts, sending applications when you decide to, and tracking replies. We do not sell data and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

You and, for support, the Aplica team. An employer only sees what you send them: the adapted CV, the letter and your answers. Processors acting on our behalf: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email), Anthropic (the AI that drafts and classifies text; it does not use your data to train its models) and DeepL (translation).

Google user data (if you connect Gmail)

If you choose to connect your Gmail account, we request only two permissions from Google: send email on your behalf (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.send) and your email address (userinfo.email).

How we use it: to send, from your own Gmail address, the job applications that you approve (or that you explicitly set to send automatically). Each message goes only to the employer address of the offer you applied to. Your email address is used to show you which account is connected.
What we do not do: we cannot and do not read, search or delete your emails, contacts, calendar or any other data in your Google account. The gmail.send permission does not allow it.
Storage: the access and refresh tokens Google gives us are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM). When you disconnect Gmail we revoke them with Google and delete them; when you delete your account they are deleted with it.
Sharing: we do not share Google user data with anyone. It is not transferred to third parties, not used for advertising, and not read by humans, except with your explicit consent for support, for security, or where the law requires it.
AI: we do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

Aplica's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can disconnect Gmail at any time from your Aplica preferences, or from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Retention and deletion

For as long as you have an account. Write to hola@aplica.careers and we delete your account, all your data and files within 7 days.

AI-generated text

Adapted CVs, cover letters and suggested replies are drafted by an AI from your own facts, and you review them before they are sent. We tell you because the EU AI Act requires it, and because it is true.
